Fruit Salad
The Macedonia work was conceived as a conclusion to the fruit cycle and as a tribute to it.
In previous works, I represented the fruits at the moment that precedes the sexual act, while in the latter work I set the objective of immediately rendering, through the composition and distribution of the figures in space, a feeling of confusion, of difficulty in distinguishing where one body begins and the other ends in a sort of chaotic continuity that creates disorientation.
Taking inspiration from real fruit salad, where the chopped fruits lose their identity and integrity as individuals to "get lost", with my work I want to describe the group sexual act with a confused blaze of black lines, two-dimensional bodies and coloured fruit that captures immediately the eye of the observer.
The purpose of Macedonia, like that of the other works, is to keep us glued in front of it, now observing the fruits, now trying to understand the boundaries of the different bodies and give birth to genuine emotion, that is amazement or indignation, without no symbolic intent.
